FRIENDS and family of missing Limerick woman Carrie Mullane (Noonan), along with members of the local community, have taken to social media to express their concern and share kind words about the 39-year-old.

Ms Mullane, from Moyross, is known to have travelled to Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh on Saturday, October 10. There have been no confirmed sightings of her since.

The PSNI confirmed this Tuesday that they have since arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of her murder.

Following the news that a murder investigation had been launched Ms Mullane’s family and friends shared their sadness over her disappearance.

“Please god bring my beautiful sister home, she wouldn’t hurt a fly” said Sandra Noonan, Carrie’s sister this Tuesday afternoon.

Before the announcement of the murder investigation, Sandra wrote she hoped Carrie “walks in [her] father’s door with her happy giggly head”.

“Life hasn’t been easy for her, but we love you Car,” Sandra said in another post.

Moyross Community Hub also shared a post showing their support for Carrie’s friends and family.

“Our thoughts are with Carrie, her family, friends and everyone affected at this incredibly difficult time,” they said.

“We recognise that news like this can have a profound impact on people, and we want everyone to know that support is available within our community.”

Countless comments have been left conveying concern and love for Carrie and her family, featuring emojis of praying hands and hearts.

One social media user said, “I hope and pray that [PSNI] are wrong and that Carrie can be brought home to her babies.”

Man arrested on suspicion of murder of Limerick woman

Detective Superintendent Richard Thornton from the Police Service’s Serious Crime Branch, says that the lack of contact with her family is “extremely out of character” for Carrie and has led to grave concerns for her safety.

“Family and friends of Carrie tell us that she is usually in almost daily contact with them and not hearing from her has caused them to fear something may have happened to her after she reached Northern Ireland.

“Concern for Carrie’s wellbeing was reported to PSNI by our colleagues in An Garda Síochána on 29th October at which time we immediately classified her as a ‘high risk’ missing person began an intensive search for her. We implemented a number of search enquiries including CCTV trawls, house to house, electronics analysis and interviewing potential witnesses, to try to locate her and establish her welfare.

“These enquiries to date have not established her whereabouts and have led us to hold serious concern that Carrie may have been the victim of a violent crime and may in fact have been murdered sometime after her arrival in Northern Ireland.”

PSNI asks anyone with information to get touch by calling 101 and asking for the Major Investigation Team on extension 40374 or by quoting reference number 272 29/10/26.

Those in the Republic of Ireland should call 999 or 112.
