‘I’m still alive’, says RTE star Sinead Kennedy as she breaks social media silence after being hounded by fans
RTE star Sinead Kennedy has broken her social media silence and said she’s “still alive”.
The Cork beauty front the hit daytime show Today on Mondays and Tuesdays with Daithi O Se.
The chat show only runs from September to May so the hosts get to take a three-month break for summer.
During the year, Sinead spends much of her time solo-parenting her two children, Indie and Theo, while her husband Conor Kirwan works with the European Defence Agency in Brussels and returns home at weekends.
Now that Sinead has more free time, the family-of-four are spending the entire summer together in Belgium.
And with Sinead focusing on spending time with her family, her social media presence has been seriously lacking.
The 42-year-old hasn’t posted on her Instagram feed since March 9 – and her fans were crying out for her to return.
Yesterday, Sinead posted a series of photos to her posing on set in the RTE Today studio before she wrapped up season 14.
The mum-of-two captioned her post: “Still alive and kicking for all those wondering … appreciate the welfare check.
“I’m just atrocious at this! But shall to do better. Lots of unanswered questions in my DMs that hopefully the next few posts will cover. Bear with me.”
And by the sounds of it, most of Sinead’s messages were about her glamorous TV looks.
Sinead attempted to share all of the details of where she got her Today outfits from in the caption.
She added: “All of the items pictured have been reworn to death and are a few, in some cases many, years old. I know that can be frustrating but I find Vinted & Vestiaire great for hunting down older bits and getting a bargain.”
Sinead’s friends and fans were all delighted with her return to Instagram.
Author Trisha Lewis wrote: “Miss you and hope you’re having a great summer!”
Celia said: “Beautiful as always.”
Hila remarked: “Miss you too Sinead and enjoying your summer time with the family… in Belgium no doubt.”
Sinead replied: “Having the loveliest time with family.”
Michael added: “Sinead It will be a pleasure to have you back on the Today show again soon, your outfit’s and your character is worth waiting for to relax and enjoy.”
