Oskar Kordus dead at 20: Footballer tragically dies in car crash after deer jumped through windscreen in freak incident
POLISH football club Kania Gostyn has announced the tragic death of player Oskar Kordus following a traffic collision with a deer.
Kordus, 20, died after he was hit in the face when a roe deer was struck by an oncoming Volkswagen car driven by a 52-year-old and flew onto the opposite carriageway and into his path while driving.

The animal smashed through his BMW’s front windscreen while he was driving on the DW434 section between Krajewice and Grabonóg at 6am on Monday morning.
His car then left the road and rolled into a ditch by the side of the road. The driver of the Volkswagen was unhurt.
The District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Gostyń reported two people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash, one of whom was not showing any vital signs when firefighters arrived at the scene.
A statement said: “Upon arrival at the scene and examination, it was determined that one of the injured persons had no vital signs.
“The other person involved in the incident did not sustain any injuries. Firefighters began cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
“After the Emergency Medical Services Team arrived, medical procedures continued.
“Vital signs were restored, and the injured person was transported by air ambulance helicopter to a hospital in Poznań.”
Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, at 10:30pm on Tuesday it was announced Kordus had died of his wounds.
His club, who play in Poland‘s fourth tier, bid the defender a heartbreaking farewell on social media.
