Ireland set for 30C heatwave blast in just DAYS as weather turns ‘very warm and hot’ after ‘heavy rain’ & thunder

IRELAND could be facing into another heatwave in just a matter of days according to weather experts.

Met Eireann has forecast an unsettled couple of days as a “mobile Atlantic regime” dictates Ireland’s weather.

It will bring “persistent and heavy” rain for most of today in 17C temperatures.

Some dry spells will appear in parts of the west this evening but rain will linger in other areas into tonight.

That rain will eventually clear off into the Irish Sea to make way for a mild night with highs of 9C.

But after a wet Saturday yesterday too weather expert Kenneth Blackmore took to social media to share a much more positive weekend update.

The Donegal Weather Channel chief told followers that next weekend could be a very different story as temperatures start to climb back up towards the 20s.

Even though Met Eireann warned in their latest forecast that temperatures at the moment are “cooler than average”, Blackmore claims we could see 20C heat by Friday.

Posting on the Donegal Weather Channel Facebook he said: “Looking more likely to turn very warm and hot again next weekend.

“Temperatures are looking increasingly likely to warm up next weekend.

“There’s good model agreement, especially from the ECMWF and GFS models, indicating temperatures might reach the low 20s by Friday and move into the mid 20s over the weekend.

“Looking ahead to the following week, temperatures could continue to rise, possibly reaching the high 20s and even hitting the 30s.”

And Met Eireann echoed a similar outlook for the end of this week simply stating: “Currently it looks warmer and drier for Friday with sunny spells.”

However, before the warm 30C switch Ireland is in for a very wet few days.

Tomorrow will start bright but showers will eventually turn widespread and “heavy”.

On Tuesday more heavy rainfall is expected and will be accompanied by thunder.

Wednesday will be cloudy and wet with Ulster taking the brunt of the worst showers.

No improvement is expected on Thursday as Met Eireann warn: “Wet start with rain clearing east through the morning, falling heavy and persistent at times.

“Scattered showers will follow in behind through the afternoon, heavy at times but with the occasional sunny spell breaking through.”

Highs of 16C are expected all week before a slight rise to 19C on Thursday.
