Two children killed and three hurt as buggy being driven by girl, 7, crashes and flips in ‘unimaginable’ tragedy

TWO young children have been killed and three others injured in a horrifying crash after a buggy driven by a seven-year-old girl flipped repeatedly.

Jordan Poulin, eight, and Jadyn Barrett, seven, both from British Columbia, died after the side-by-side vehicle the youngster was driving spiralled out of control and rolled over several times.

The tragedy unfolded on June 4 at around 1pm, when four children were crammed onto the off-road vehicle before disaster struck.

Police said the buggy flipped “several times over a considerable distance” after Jadyn lost control on a rural road near her family farm outside Pouce Coupe.

Jordan, who was just days away from his ninth birthday, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jadyn was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital in critical condition but tragically died two days later, her father confirmed.

Heartbroken dad Luke wrote in a gut-wrenching Facebook post: “Jadyn, my daughter, went to Heaven. She’s running on the streets of gold.”

Three other children miraculously survived with minor injuries, according to cops.

An investigation into the shocking crash is now underway.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Kris Clark said: “As a parent, I cannot fathom the unimaginable and tragic loss these families have suffered.

“Our hearts go out to everyone who was impacted by this unthinkable event.”

He added: “I would say that it is too early in the investigation to say whether charges might be laid in this case.

“The investigation remains ongoing and police will be looking at all aspects to determine if there is any criminality.”

Luke revealed that Jordan was part of his nephew’s family in another emotional social media post.

In British Columbia, children under 16 are banned from operating side-by-side vehicles with passengers on board.

A side-by-side is a small motorised off-road vehicle – often used on rural land.

Strict rules also require both drivers and passengers to meet height and weight limits – and to be supervised by an adult.

Just weeks before the crash, Luke had posted a photo believed to show the buggy involved, alongside a young boy.

He wrote: “Side x side rides are better with this little fellow.”

A public memorial service for the victims is scheduled for Friday in nearby Dawson Creek.
