Six people including children rushed to hospital after horrific fire pit blaze at social gathering outside Kerry house

SIX people – including children – have been rushed to hospital following a major blaze in Co Kerry.
Men, women and children were seriously injured after a horrific blaze incident involving a fire pit at a house in Killarney on Saturday.
According to The Irish Independent, a boy and his mother are fighting for their lives after suffering severe burns in the incident.
It has been reported that the freak incident took place after a blaze in an outdoor fire pit got out of control during a social gathering.
The horrific incident took place at around 10:20pm on Saturday.
Gardai have launched an investigation into the incident and confirmed a technical examination of the scene has taken place.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said: “Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of an incident of fire that occurred at a domestic residence in Killarney, Co Kerry on Saturday 13 June 2026 at approximately 10:20 pm.
“Six people, men, women and children, were conveyed to hospital for the treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.
“A technical examination of the scene has been conducted.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
