Child killer’s master’s degree prison studies as murdered boys’ mum fears he’ll ‘finish job’ amid temporary release bid

CHILD killer Sanjeev Chada is studying for a master’s degree in sports and nutrition while serving two life sentences.

The 55-year-old monster — who murdered his sons Eoghan, ten, and Ruairi, five, in July 2013 — is currently awaiting a decision by the Parole Board on whether he will be granted temporary release from Dublin’s Arbour Hill Prison.

Chada, who dabbled in the stock market, was embezzling €56,000 from a local community group to fund his habit and feared this was about to be publicly exposed when he murdered his boys.

A source said the killer, who was handed two life sentences on October 7, 2014, after admitting to the murders of his two sons, has been keeping busy behind bars since — including taking an Open University course.

The source said: “As Chada awaits the Parole Board’s decision on his second application, he has been keeping very busy.

“As well as working, he has been doing a master’s degree in sports and exercise nutrition and he is set to finish it this summer.”

They added: “He is big into sport and plays badminton, volleyball and snooker, so the course suits him.

“He could very well go into that area if he is ever released.

“Chada is deemed a model prisoner who fills his days with work, study and exercise.

“He won’t find out if he was successful with his parole application until this summer so he is busy keeping his mind occupied while he awaits the decision.”

Schoolboy Eoghan suffered a shattered skull, broken bones and a fractured femur, while his little brother was strangled.

The double killer drove from Carlow to Ballintubber Abbey in Co Mayo before killing his two children.

Brute Chada put them in the boot of his car and drove around. He was arrested after he failed in an attempt to take his own life.

Last month, his former wife Kathleen spoke of how she fears for when he eventually walks free from prison he will “finish the job” — worrying he’ll kill her before ending his own life.

Speaking on Virgin Media One, she told of the moment she found out evil Chada had taken her two sons’ lives.

She said: “The words he used were, ‘They are dead in the back’. They are imprinted on my mind.

“I answered the phone — it was him. I was with a detective at the time, giving my statement [after reporting the boys missing]. I looked at him . . .  he could tell from me it was Sanjeev on the line, and my first words were, ‘Are you OK, where are you?’

“He told me there’d been a crash and I said, ‘Are the boys OK?’ and he replied, ‘No, they are dead in the back’. And I went . . . I lost it at that point. The detective took the phone. I know that I screamed.

“I came back into the sitting room and I just sat on the sofa going, ‘They can’t be’.”

A source said it is unlikely Chada will get parole due to the severity of his crimes.
