‘I didn’t expect it’ says shocked Nathan Carter as he becomes youngest star on Late Late Show Country Music Hall of Fame
NATHAN Carter has become the youngest star to be inducted into the Late Late Show Country Music Hall of Fame.
The biggest names in Irish country music joined host Patrick Kielty for tonight’s Country Music Special.

At the end of the show, Nathan Carter became the latest inductee to the Late Late Show Country Music Hall of Fame.
He has followed in the footsteps of huge stars such as Daniel O’Donnell, Declan Nerney and Sandy Kelly – who was the one who announced the award to a delighted Nathan.
Nathan’s parents Ian and Noreen and his granny Anne later surprised him by joining him on The Late Late Show couch.
Anne brought out a huge blanket with Nathan on it and waved it around to the crowd while they cheered her on.

Ian told viewers that his proudest moment was when Nathan was born.
Receiving the accolade, Nathan said that having his family there was, “Unbelievable.”
He added: “I just didn’t expect it. Thank you so much. It’s been 15, 16 amazing years since I left Liverpool and never dreamt [of this]…
“Starting off in pubs… back here tonight. Funny enough, we opened with Time of your Life tonight and that was the first song I sang on The Late Late as a single, 13 years ago.”
Nathan is the youngest recipient of the award to date at 36 years of age.
The Liverpool native and the other Irish musicians closed out the show by singing Carter Family’s hit Will the Circle Be Unbroken before belting out Wagon Wheel.
