Teen, 18, charged with dangerous driving over death of Grace Lynch, 16, faces six more charges over scrambler crash

A TEENAGER who was charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Grace Lynch in Dublin earlier this year is facing six more charges.

Keith Lee, 18 with an address at Park View Drive, Poppintree Park in Dublin 11, faced six additional charges before Blanchardstown District Court today.

They are four counts of dangerous driving, one count of driving without insurance and one count of driving without a driving license.

Grace Lynch, 16, was killed after being hit by a speeding scrambler bike that broke a red light in Finglas on January 25, 2026.

She died in hospital a number of hours after she was hit by the scrambler bike.

In January, Lee was charged with driving a vehicle in a manner which was dangerous to the public, thereby causing Grace’s death.

Garda Thomas McDaniel of Finglas Garda station told the court this morning that Lee is now facing the six additional charges.

Judge David McHugh told Lee that he needed to inform his solicitor, who was not in court, due to the technical nature of the charges.

He scheduled the case to return to court on September 29 for service of the book of evidence.

The reaction to Grace’s death led to the introduction of Grace’s Law in April, which introduced a ban on scramblers in public places.

Lee, a part-time mechanic, was granted bail in January and was told to hand in his passport and sign on at a garda station three times a week.

He’s not allowed to drive any vehicle or to have any contact with Grace’s family.
