‘Concerned’ gardai launch search for man missing for 3 days & travelling in campervan as major public appeal issued

GARDAI have appealed for help from the public as the search for an Irishman missing for three days continues.

Michael Gibbons, 47, was reported missing from his home in Charleville, Co Cork on Saturday June 27, 2026.

However, he was last seen the evening before on Friday June 26, 2026.

Michael is described as being approximately 5 foot 10 inches in height with a stocky build, brown hair and green eyes.

However, it is unknown what the Cork man was wearing when he went missing.

In a public appeal yesterday “concerned” Gardai revealed that Michael is believed to be travelling in a camper van.

And in a key piece of information, cops confirmed the camper van has a UK registration.

Gardai are asking anyone with information on Michael’s whereabouts or movements to come forward.

In a statement a garda spokesperson said: “Gardai and Michael’s family are concerned for his safety.

“Anyone with information on Michael’s whereabouts is asked to contact Mallow Garda Station on (022) 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
