A RAMPANT Newcastle West marched back to the senior camogie championship final with a resounding 3-17 to 1-8 victory over a plucky Adare side.
For most of the rest of the hour, it was the defending champions’ forwards who shone brightest.
Teenagers Hazel Horgan and Mia Smith, who were both part of Limerick’s historic All-Ireland U16 success two years ago were both among the scorers.
Horgan helped herself to 1-2, with Grace Kelly and Eabha Collins also raising green flags for the four-in-a-row chasing Magpies.
Limerick captain Rebecca Delee, who has had a tough year with injuries, continued her return to top form, top-scoring with 0-8 to add to the seven points she got against Monaleen in the last game of the group.
Despite playing second fiddle throughout the afternoon, Adare through Costello got a fortuitous goal on the stroke of half-time to reduce the gap to six points at the change of ends.
But the champions responded with Kayleigh Hurley and Horgan getting early second half scores.
They added two goals later in the game to ensure a comfortable 15-point victory.
