Funeral to take place on Friday of a young man from Glin, who was killed when the car he was driving struck a tree near Adare
THE MOTHER of a young Limerick man who perished in a road traffic collision has expressed her grief as family and friends prepare to say a final farewell.
Nathan Browne, aged in his early 20s, from Glin, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the motoring incident between Adare and Croagh in the early hours of Sunday morning. The car he was driving struck a tree. Two passengers were taken to University Hospital Limerick, one with critical injuries.
Nathan’s death comes just weeks before the 10th anniversary of his father Martin who died from an illness.
Nathan’s mum, Tereas Keane, in a series of posts on Facebook, has shared her grief at the loss of her son.
“There are no words to describe right now how I’m feeling. I feel my heart is broken and my daughter’s who lost her brother.
“Keep Zoey and Nathan in your prayers for this hard time. Thanks so much for keeping me in your prayers and for friends who have reached out. Words can’t describe what ye mean to me. It’s going to be so hard,” wrote Teresa.
In follow up posts, she shared touching photos of Nathan as a child.
“My beautiful boy. Rest in peace. I love you forever,” wrote Teresa, who asks Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Padre Pio to “please, please give me the strength to get through the days that are ahead of me”.
Nathan’s funeral arrangements have been announced – reposing in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin, (V94 YC66) this Thursday, September 24 from 5pm until 7pm
Requiem Mass will be celebrated in Glin on Friday, September 25 at noon followed by burial in Kilfergus Cemetery, Glin. Mass will be live-streamed on http://www.churchservice.tv/glin
He is sadly missed and forever remembered by his mother Teresa, his heartbroken grandparents Betty and John, his godfather and close friend John Michael Cosgrave, relatives, kind neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
A large crowd attended a balloon release ceremony in memory of Nathan at Glin Pier on Tuesday night.
Many moving condolences have been expressed, including from one man who wrote on rip.ie: “Our sincere condolences to you both on Nathan’s incredibly sad and sudden passing from this world.
“Lovely memories of him as a child with his dad Martin popping in and out of the creamery in Glin. Both now reunited. “
Another mourner said: “ Nathan was a lovely young lad, kind and always happy. Will miss our chats, Nathan. Reunited with his beloved dad. Rest In heavenly peace.”
