Tributes pour for ‘beautiful brave boy’ who died after cancer battle as ‘loyal’ Galway lad ‘forever missed’ by family

TRIBUTES have flooded in for a “beautiful brave boy” who sadly passed away following a cancer battle.

David Murray of Ahane, Kilkerrin, Galway passed peacefully at home on Tuesday evening after fighting a courageous battle against cancer.

In a death notice David’s family confirmed the loss saying he will be “always remembered with love”.

It added: “It is with great sadness that we share the news of David’s passing, peacefully at home, on Tuesday evening, surrounded by his adoring family.

“Predeceased by his grandparents Jimmy Glynn and Teresa Murray and aunts Maureen and Loretta.

“David is forever loved and missed by his heartbroken parents John and Sinead, brothers Daniel and Ronan and his beloved dog Cooper.

“Always remembered with love by his grandparents Paddy Murray and Bridie Glynn, uncles, aunts, cousins and his many loyal friends.”

David will be reposing at Kilkerrin Community Centre this evening.

And his funeral mass is set to take place tomorrow in St Joseph’s Church at 1pm, with burial afterwards in Kilkerrin Cemetery.

Oscar’s Kids Ireland paid a touching tribute to the young boy on social media following David’s passing.

They said: “We are deeply saddened to share that wonderful David passed away peacefully last night, surrounded by his loving family in Galway.

“A gentle, kind and curious young man, David loved life on his farm and adored animals.

“Throughout his illness, he showed courage beyond measure and touched the hearts of all who knew him.

“We send our heartfelt love and deepest condolences to his heartbroken parents Sinead and John, his brothers Daniel and Ronan and to all his wider family and friends.”

Kilkerrin United Soccer Club also paid heartbreaking tributes to David, describing him as “a valued member of our club for a number of years”.

They said: “It is with profound sadness that everyone at Kilkerrin United learned of the untimely passing of David.

“David was a valued member of our club for a number of years and was hugely popular amongst his teammates, coaches and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

“His presence, friendship and contribution to the club will never be forgotten, and he will be greatly missed by all at Kilkerrin United.”

Many more tributes have poured in for the “beautiful brave little boy”.

One person from the child’s school shared : “David brought warmth and kindness to our classroom and was a pleasure to teach.

“He was a loyal and very good friend to his classmates.

“He was a talented boy who possessed both a natural flair for numbers and a wonderfully creative side. He will be missed so much by us all.”

Someone else wrote: “Words cannot express how deeply sorry we are for this unimaginable loss of your beautiful brave little boy David who was so loved by you all and will never be forgotten.

“There are no words. I hope the happy times you all shared together will carry you all through the difficult times ahead.”

A third penned: “Sorry and saddened to hear that David has passed away. A wonderful, happy, kind and caring boy.”

And a fourth added: “No words will ever be sufficient to express the sadness we feel for you on losing your darling boy, David.

“In his short life he’s been an inspiration for us all and we will remember him always. May his gentle soul rest forever in peace.”
