Irish model legend ‘receiving medical care’ after suffering ‘major health setback’ as family ‘grateful’ for support

IRISH fashionista Celia Holman Lee has suffered a “major health setback” and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The model agent, 75, will not be attending any public engagements in the near future, her family has said in a statement.
Celia’s family added that they want to focus on “her care and recovery” during this “difficult” time.
It is unclear what exactly happened to Celia.
Her family said in a statement: “It is with heavy hearts that we share that Celia Holman Lee has experienced a major health setback and is currently receiving medical care.
“As a result, Celia will be unavailable for public engagements for a period of time.
“Her family asks that their privacy be respected during this difficult period so that they can focus on her care and recovery.
“The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and good wishes.
“Please know that every message is appreciated and gives them strength.
“Given the volume of messages, they may not be able to respond individually, and ask for your understanding if they are unable to do so.
“An update will be shared at an appropriate time. In the meantime, the family asks that all media respect their wishes.”
The 75-year-old is one of Ireland’s most successful models.
The icon began her catwalk career when she was just 15 years old and would go on to establish her renowned Holman Lee Agency.
Well-wishers have poured in on social media for the Limerick woman.
Former Miss Ireland and journalist Amanda Brunker said: “One of the strongest women I know… sending yourself and Ger love and strength at this time.”
Fashion broadcaster Rosalind Lipsett said: “Sending Celia so much love and strength as she heals.”
Magazine publisher Norah Casey shared: “Sending lots of love and strength to Celia.”
While TV’s Lorraine Keane added: “Please God Celia feels better soon. Sending love, prayers and strength to you.”
