Businesses and shoppers in Bruff are set to benefit from investment from the Mayoral Fund
A LONG-RUNNING issue with a lack of parking in a county town has been addressed by the mayor, Limerick Live has learned this Friday.
Mayor John Moran has approved €240,000 from the Mayoral Fund to purchase land to the rear of Eurospar on Main Street, Bruff, as “a strategic amenity for the town”. It will be used as a public car park.
Cllr Greg Conway described it as “great news for Bruff and surrounding areas”.
“The delivery of this site for a new public carpark in Bruff will provide great support for local businesses and will be a great amenity for the town,” said Cllr Conway, who added that works are due to be completed by mid-November so in plenty of time for Christmas shopping.
Earlier this year, the positive impact of the new car park in Abbeyfeale demonstrated the benefits that such an amenity can bring to a town. The mayorsaid he is pleased to support a similar amenity for Bruff.
This investment sits alongside other Mayoral Fund investments in pedestrian-focused public realm initiatives, reflecting the mayor’s “commitment to balancing accessibility, parking provision and improvements to public spaces”.
