Biker, 30s, pronounced deceased at Tipperary crash scene after collision between motorcyclist & car as appeal issued

A MAN has been killed in a horrific crash between a car and a motorbike in Co Tipperary.

The biker, aged in his 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene of the collision at Ballynagrana in Carrick-on-Suir yesterday.

The driver of the car, aged in his 40s, was taken to Tipperary University Hospital as a precaution following the crash, which took place at around 4:45pm.

No other injuries were reported at the time.

Gardai confirmed the body of the motorcyclist has been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford.

The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The road has been closed pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Local diversions are in place but anyone travelling in the area has been urged to avoid the route.

Gardai are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward and assist in their investigation.

In a statement this afternoon, a spokesperson for the force said: “Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area of Ballynagrana, Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary, between 4:00pm and 5:00pm on Thursday 11 June 2026, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardai.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Clonmel Garda Station on (052) 6177640, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
