Woman, 20s, dies in single-vehicle crash in Cork village as Gardai close road and issue 30 minute footage appeal

A WOMAN in her 20s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Co Cork today.
The collision took place at around 7.25am on the N73 Mallow-Dublin Road at Kildorrery this morning.
The driver, who was the lone occupant of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
It is understood that her body has been removed to the local mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will take place soon.
The coroner has also been notified.
An Garda Siochana have closed the N73 between Kildorrery Village and the R522 for a technical examination by the forensic collision investigation team.
Local diversions have been put in place.
In an appeal to the public, Gardai are asking those who have witnessed the crash to come forward.
And those who may have camera footage of the area between 7 and 7.30am are asked to make it available to the cops.
In a statement issued a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
“Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area of the N73 Mallow-Dublin road at Kildorrery between 7:00am and 7:30am on Sunday 7th June 2026, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
