Heartbreak as dad-of-one, 34, killed in motorcycle crash in Tipperary pictured as tributes paid to ‘loyal friend’

TRIBUTES have been paid to a personal trainer who died in a motorcycling accident in Tipperary earlier this week.

Dad-of-one Darragh Bourke, 34, sadly lost his life in a crash involving a car and motorcycle.

The fatal collision happened at around 4.45pm at Ballynagrana in Carrick-on-Suir on Thursday, June 11.

The popular PT, who ran his own Darragh Bourke coaching business, was a native of Redmondstown in Clonmel.

And locals said he had worked with several teams, clubs and schools throughout Munster.

He also worked at Knocklofty Rehab Care in Clonmel, working with individuals with various disabilities and organising successful sports day events that brought together surrounding centres from all over the country.

Paying tribute one friend wrote: “Sincere sympathy to the extended Bourke Family on the sad death of Darragh.

“A very good and loyal friend to our son Dylan during their days working together in the gym.”

Darragh is survived by his parents Cyril and Catherine, sister Steph, partner Gemma, and son Logan.

No funeral arrangements have been made as yet.

Gardai are still investigating the crash.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

No other injuries were reported following the collision.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued and gardai are asking road users who were travelling in the Ballynagrana area between 4pm and 5pm on the day of incident to contact them.

They are also asking for anyone who may have camera footage to make it available to them.
