RTE viewers ‘gutted’ as ‘best’ series disappears off air after ‘emotional’ final episode and replacement revealed

RTE viewers have shared their disappointment as the “best” series came to an “emotional” end.
The final episode of season two of Uncharted with Ray Goggins aired last night.
The series sees the specialist take well-known Irish faces on extreme outdoor expeditions through some of the most remote and unforgiving environments on Earth.
Each week, a new celebrity pairing was thrown into a physically and mentally demanding adventure, designed to push their limits and spark real personal growth.
Ray was joined by a famous father and son duo, Keith and Jay Duffy for the final episode which saw them venture to Uganda in an attempt to climb one of Africa’s highest and least climbed peaks in the Rwenzori Mountains.
After the episode aired, Ray took to Instagram to share just how challenging the experience was.
He wrote: “Well that was emotional let me tell you… I have done some pretty hard and physically demanding things in my life, but that was up there.
“They make them Duffy’s tough and thanks to both of them for buying into our team and getting us to the end. Keith and Jay are two exceptional, talented and just good decent men that I would walk into the Valley of Death with… again!
“Thanks fellas, you are two serious operators and I loved having you with me on this.”
And Ray wasn’t the only one who shared his emotions last night as social media was flooded with fans praising the series.
Carrie wrote: “Gutted this series is over. I hope there will be another series. Well done @goggins_ray, all the celebrities that took part a d the crew behind the scenes.“
Karen remarked: “Brilliant series… @goggins_ray. Hope there’s another one in the mix.”
Alice remarked: “What a show Ray, best one ever with Keith and Jay… you were amazing.”
Niamh added: “What the hell are we going to do on Wednesday nights now? Another great one. Loved the raw emotion Keith showed when talking about his kids. He perfectly demonstrated what we all feel for our kids. Well done all on a great series.”
RTE will be airing repeat episodes of Room to Improve in the Wednesday evening 21.35pm slot.
